New school year!
Firstly, I wish to welcome you all back to school and hope you had an enjoyable summer!
Due to demand, we have re-launched our ‘Phones for Boards’ scheme this September to include a wider range of products. During the summer months we contacted over 500 teachers nationwide and have re-vamped our product offerings based on direct feedback from these teachers.
In an exciting new development now every school can also recycle video games as well as used mobile phones. Here’s what we are looking for.
- Games compatible with: X box, Wii, Playstation 2 and 3, PSP, Ds, DSi, DSi XL and DS3d.
- Each game has to be less than 3 years of age and in reasonable condition.
- Each game has to be complete in its box and with cover.
The good news is that since we launched the ‘Phones for Boards’ scheme in September 2009, over 2000 schools nationwide have registered by calling us on 1850 525 545.
Has your school registered yet? You can find our new product list and poster below.
I would love to call to your school to chat to teachers and students about the Foundation. Please email me on melanie@jackandjill.ie to arrange this.
Happy collecting!

Success For Jack and Jill Schools.
We now have over 2000 schools registered and we hope, with your help that this number will continue to grow. We have seen many schools reach their target with 600 schools now with their boards fully installed and great reports are coming back from schools on their satisfaction with the Phones for Boards campaign.
Kilkenny School Visits
This week… Catherine from The Jack and Jill Foundation is visiting 16 schools in Kilkenny. Check back in at the end of the week to see pictures of these schools where the children are busy collecting old mobile phones in order to get a new Promethean Interactive Whiteboard free of charge for their school!!
Jack and Jill Tours Ireland.
As you can see from all our photos, The Jack and Jill Foundation will have visited schools in Dublin, Wicklow, Donegal, Kerry and Cavan by Halloween Break.
These visits serve two purposes. Firstly, they introduce the children to the story behind The Jack and Jill Foundation, it’s valuable work and how their schools efforts in the recycling of phones is so valuable to us. It also gives The Jack and Jill Foundation a chance to thank each and every school it visits for their help.

Knockanean N.S.

Knockanean NS Ennis Co. Clare
Hi! We are Knockanean N.S. Our school is situated on the out-skirts of Ennis, Co. Clare. Our teachers explained to us how the Jack and Jill foundation will collect old mobile phones in exchange for a new interactive whiteboard, and we said we’d give it a go! After two weeks of collecting we have finally achieved our goal of 500 phones! We will continue collecting for another fortnight in the hope of collecting enough phones to get another whiteboard for our school! As this will save us an awful lot of money. Thank you the Jack and Jill Foundation for giving us this wonderful oppertunity!

Well done Knockanean and thank you John for this post!
