    Recycling Crutches – 'Precious Steps'

    By Deirdre | Latest News, Recycling | 9 comments | 13 August, 2010 | 0

Jack & Jill have been retained by HSE to collect all the used crutches and zimmer frames to be recycled to the benefit of the Jack & Jill Foundation and the 322 children presently under our wing.
The project will commence at the beginning of October, and information will be issued by both the HSE and Jack & Jill over the next few weeks advising the location of collection points across Ireland.
We ran a competion in early September to name the campaign and we received a number of very good entries. After much debate we decided on the name ‘Precious Steps’ which was sent in by Gaberiel McDonnell from Enfield. Congratulations to Gaberiel, and her prize of one nights B&B in the Merrion hotel with dinner at the Cellar restaurant will be with her shortly. Our thanks to the Merrion Hotel, Dublin for sponsoring this wonderful prize. Our thanks also to everyone who took the time to send in an entry.

        Bob
Mobile phones can be donated by sending them in an envelope marked Freepost to
Jack & Jill Mobile Phones Appeal, Ratoath Road, Finglas, Dublin 11.
The collection of crutches will only begin in the second half of February so keep an eye on our website for drop off locations.

Hi, first of all we apologize for the big delay in answering this comments; the reason was that we were waiting all this time for confirmation from HSE.
You can drop old crutches for recycling at the Applegreen stores across Ireland. See the list here: https://www.jackandjill.ie/how-you-can-help/crutches-recycling/
      Thank you!
