Fundraising & Events Executive

This is an exciting opportunity to join The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation as a Fundraising & Events Executive, working as part of a busy and ambitious fundraising team to grow income, develop relationships with supporters and deliver a varied programme of fundraising activity.

Reporting directly to the Fundraising Manager, this is a broad, hands-on fundraising role covering events, corporate and community fundraising, supporter stewardship, income generation and new business development. You will manage and develop existing fundraising activity while also identifying new opportunities, building relationships and helping to bring new supporters on board.

Events will be a key part of the role. From developing event concepts and managing logistics to driving attendance, selling tickets and tables, securing corporate participation and ensuring events reach their fundraising targets, you will be involved from initial planning right through to delivery and follow-up.

It is also a particularly exciting time to join Jack and Jill. In 2027, we will celebrate our 30th anniversary, with an ambitious programme of events, campaigns, partnerships and celebrations planned throughout the year. The successful candidate will play an important part in bringing these plans to life, while joining us in a permanent role that will continue to develop Jack and Jill’s fundraising activity well beyond our anniversary year.

This is a role for someone who enjoys working with people, is confident making an ask, working on multiple projects, loves seeing an event or campaign come together and understands the importance of building strong, lasting relationships with supporters. You’ll need to be equally comfortable developing a new fundraising idea, speaking to a corporate prospect, supporting an existing fundraiser or driving sales for an upcoming event.

Salary scale: €38,000–€40,000 per annum

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of Jack and Jill’s existing fundraising events and campaigns, both large and small, working to agreed budgets, timelines and income targets.
  • Plan and deliver fundraising events from concept through to completion, coordinating venues, suppliers, permits, catering, travel, merchandise, volunteers and all event-day requirements.
  • Drive attendance and income for fundraising events, proactively selling tickets, tables and places and engaging with companies, supporters, networks and prospective attendees to ensure events achieve their targets.
  • Develop relationships with event attendees and participants, identifying opportunities to convert one-off engagement into longer-term support for Jack and Jill.
  • Play a key role in the planning and delivery of fundraising events, campaigns and partnerships.
  • Proactively identify and secure new fundraising opportunities across corporate, community and events fundraising.
  • Support the management and stewardship of existing supporters ensuring they receive an excellent experience and identifying opportunities to deepen their involvement with Jack and Jill.
  • Engage with community groups, clubs, schools, businesses and individuals to encourage and support fundraising activity.
  • Promote and support key fundraising initiatives, including national campaigns, digital fundraising, local events and fundraising challenges.
  • Steward fundraisers and supporters throughout their journey, providing excellent supporter care, timely acknowledgements and personalised communications, while identifying opportunities to maximise income and build longer-term relationships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, supporters, event attendees, community fundraisers, volunteers and other supporters, maintaining a warm, engaging and professional approach to all communications.
  • Recruit, brief and coordinate volunteers to support fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Represent Jack and Jill, fundraising and community events, networking opportunities and conferences, delivering presentations and pitches where required.
  • Work closely with the Communications Team to develop communications plans and promotional activity to drive awareness, participation and income for fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Brief, update and collaborate with colleagues across Jack and Jill to maximise fundraising opportunities and ensure strong storytelling and supporter engagement.
  • Research and develop new fundraising initiatives and event opportunities, bringing creativity and new ideas to the team.
  • Review and analyse the performance of fundraising events and campaigns, using learnings and insights to inform future activity.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for fundraising activity, monitoring income and expenditure and reporting on performance against agreed targets.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date supporter information through the CRM/database and use data and insights to support relationship management and fundraising activity.
  • Keep abreast of fundraising and event trends across the sector and remain aware of market and economic factors that may influence fundraising.
  • Ensure fundraising activities and events comply with relevant legislation and internal policies, including GDPR and health and safety requirements.
  • Support other areas of the Fundraising Team as required.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience within fundraising, events, sales, marketing, business development or a similar environment.
  • Experience in event planning and delivery, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • A confident and proactive approach to fundraising, sales or business development, with the ability to engage prospective supporters, make an ask and drive event attendance and fundraising income.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage with everyone from individual fundraisers and volunteers to senior corporate contacts.
  • Experience of providing high-quality stewardship, supporter or customer care and building relationships over time.
  • A creative and commercial approach, with the ability to identify opportunities to grow fundraising income and engagement.
  • Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure, particularly in the lead-up to events and campaigns.
  • Experience working to targets and an understanding of the importance of return on investment in fundraising activity.
  • Budget management skills, including monitoring income and expenditure.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of digital and social media.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach, with the flexibility and initiative to work both independently and as part of a team.
  •  Strong computer skills, including MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Experience using a CRM/database system is desirable but not essential.
  • An understanding of the fundraising and non-profit landscape in Ireland is desirable but not essential.
  • The successful candidate must be able to travel independently, sometimes at short notice, to locations nationwide. A clean driving licence and full time access to a car for work purposes is therefore required.
  • Some out-of-hours and weekend work will be required, particularly around fundraising events and campaigns.
