First-ever Power Hour campaign will fund 25,000 hours of vital in-home nursing care and respite support for Jack and Jill families across Ireland
What an incredible three weeks of Power Hour! Together, you have helped raise €500,000 – and counting, enough to fund 25,000 hours of in-home nursing care and respite support for Jack and Jill families across Ireland.
From school discos and bake sales to sporting challenges and a spectacular finale on Today FM, you embraced the spirit of Power Hour, to take “One Hour. Your Way.” with extraordinary energy, generosity and community spirit.
To our wonderful partners at Today FM, their brilliant listeners, and everyone who donated, fundraised, volunteered or spread the word – thank you! You also helped new families discover our support and inspired nurses to get involved, making the impact of this first-ever campaign even more powerful. Every hour funded means precious time for a parent to rest, recharge or spend time with another child, knowing their child is in safe hands. You have powered something truly special!

We are completely blown away by the overwhelming kindness, generosity and incredible support we witnessed last Friday for Power Hour for Jack and Jill @Today FM.
From bucket collections across the country, to our amazing teams of volunteers and Shop Managers in our Charity Boutiques who hosted incredible events throughout the day… we saw people everywhere getting involved and showing their support.
To everyone who baked a cake, shared a cup of coffee, hosted an exercise challenge, kicked a football or danced their hearts out at one of our school discos – thank you!
And to our incredible Jack and Jill families who so generously shared their stories and helped shine a light on the vital work that we do we are beyond grateful
A very special thank you also goes to the incredible team at Today FM for getting so wholeheartedly behind Power Hour, helping us bring our vision to life and spreading the word about the difference Jack and Jill makes every single day to the 537 families currently supported by us right across Ireland.
We are still reeling from the incredible outpouring of support, goodwill and very generous donations. We’ll be back shortly with the final amount raised, but in the meantime, while we catch our breath, there’s just one thing we want to say:

Sinéad explain the difference Jack and Jill care makes to families
Recently, Today FM’s Louise Cantillon sat down with Sinéad Moran, Jack and Jill Head of Nursing, to talk about her 23 years with Jack and Jill and the difference that support can make for families.
Our nursing team works alongside families, listening to what they need and building care around their unique circumstances. Our experienced Liaison Nurse Managers support families through what can be an incredibly complex journey, connecting them with local nurses and carers who provide practical care and precious respite at home.
Sometimes those hours allow a parent to sleep. Sometimes it’s a coffee with a friend, time with another child, or simply getting through the jobs most of us take for granted. Sometimes it’s just the chance to stop, breathe and recharge for whatever comes next.
As Sinead puts it:
“We can’t fix the situation, but we can go on the journey with the family.”

Seven-year-old James lives with Cri du Chat syndrome and requires round-the-clock care. Hear his mum Louise share how Jack and Jill supports James at home while giving her and Ger something incredibly valuable – time to rest, recharge and simply take a breath.

Three-year-old Seán Óg requires round-the-clock care, but Jack and Jill support gives his parents Charlotte and Kevin precious time to rest, recharge and spend time with his baby brother Sonaí, knowing Seán Óg is safe and cared for at home.

Today, Jack and Jill supports more than 520 families across Ireland, providing up to 100 hours of in-home nursing care and respite support every month to families caring for children with severe learning disabilities and complex medical needs. Our service operates seven days a week, with no waiting list, no means test and no red tape, helping families care for their child at home, where they belong.
