We couldn’t do what we do, without our amazing volunteers who work tirelessly to help support Jack and Jill families in their local community.

Today, in celebration of National Volunteering Week, we wanted to share Geraldine’s story, who volunteers in our Wicklow Jack and Jill Charity Boutique.

Geraldine’s Story
Over the years my family and myself have been on what I can only describe as a journey. One we never thought we would have to take.
Having a child with a life-threatening illness, medical or special needs of any kind is not easy on any family or family member. If it was not for the care, compassion, kindness, generosity and time from people who helped us along the way, life would be, and would have been, so much harder.
As a family we always planned to give back when we could to help others. For so many helped us.
If I can help towards making someone’s life even a tiny bit easier, I am so grateful and proud to be even a small part of it.
To say we have met some incredible people along the way and continue to meet incredible people still to this day is an understatement.
It is a privilege to be part of the team in Jack and Jill, Wicklow. From day one, I have been made feel so welcome. They truly are an amazing group to be around. I really enjoy my time in their company. We always have time for our customers, the generous people who continuously donate items and time for each other too – with some giggles thrown in too!!
What more could you ask for?
All the while being able to help towards providing much-needed funds for vital care, support and time for what really matters most in life.
Family, love and getting to spend as much time together as you possibly can.
