Help Turn Kilometres into Care
We’re delighted to once again be partnering with Life Pharmacy to bring back the Walk 100km in September Challenge, inviting people right across Ireland to lace up their walking shoes and help give Jack and Jill families the gift of time.
Following the phenomenal success of last year’s campaign, which saw people and communities across Ireland raise an incredible €143,000, we’re aiming to make this year’s challenge even bigger and better.
Whether you enjoy a daily stroll, walk the dog, hike at the weekends or clock up your kilometres on the treadmill, every step you take this September will help fund vital in-home nursing and respite care for the 530 Jack and Jill families currently supported across Ireland.
Every €20 raised funds one hour of in-home nursing and respite care for a Jack and Jill family.
That one hour gives parents and carers precious time to rest, spend time with their other children, run errands or simply enjoy a moment to themselves, knowing their child is receiving expert care at home.
Together with more than 100 Life Pharmacy teams across Ireland, we’re encouraging individuals, families, workplaces and local communities to get involved.

Whether you complete a few kilometres each day or tackle longer walks at the weekends, every step makes a real difference.
Last year’s challenge exceeded expectations, funding over 7,000 hours of support for Jack and Jill families.
One of last year’s top fundraisers was Lesley Ryan, grandmother to Clodagh, who is supported by Jack and Jill. Lesley raised an incredible €8,500 and is encouraging others to take part this year.
“I have seen first-hand the difference Jack and Jill made for Clodagh and our family, so taking part in the Life Pharmacy Walk 100km challenge last year felt like a way to give something back. Knowing every step would help families like ours made it so worthwhile. I even discovered I enjoyed fundraising and was so grateful to all my supporters when I topped last year’s leaderboard raising €8,500.”
A Challenge Anyone Can Take Part In
We’re also delighted to welcome back Dr. Ciara Kelly, Newstalk presenter and campaign ambassador, who is once again encouraging the nation to get moving.

“I am delighted to get behind the brilliant Life Pharmacy Walk 100km initiative again this year. The beauty of the challenge is that anyone can take part, whether it’s a few kilometres at a time, a walk with friends, or joining your local pharmacy team. Every €20 raised funds one hour of in-home nursing and respite support, so each step has real purpose. I’d encourage everyone to get involved, get moving and help us build on last year’s success by turning kilometres into care for families who rely on Jack and Jill’s support.”
Together We Can Make This Our Biggest Year Yet
Throughout September, Life Pharmacy teams across Ireland will be hosting sponsored walks and fundraising activities, inviting customers, friends and local communities to join them in supporting families in their area.
Every kilometre completed and every euro raised will help provide more hours of in-home nursing and respite care, giving families the support, reassurance and breathing space they need.
Together, let’s build on last year’s incredible success and make this year’s Walk 100km Challenge our biggest yet.
