Power Hour for Jack and Jill with Today FM is LIVE!

One Hour. Your Way. One Powerful Difference.

It’s official – Power Hour for Jack and Jill with Today FM is LIVE!

For the next three weeks, we’re joining forces with our friends at Today FM and calling on people, workplaces, schools, clubs and communities across Ireland to turn 60 minutes into something powerful for Jack and Jill families.

The idea couldn’t be simpler:

€20 = ONE HOUR OF CARE

Every €20 raised through Power Hour can fund one hour of in-home nursing care and respite support for a Jack and Jill family caring for their child at home.

For most of us, an hour can pass in the blink of an eye.

For a Jack and Jill family, that same hour can mean rest. Relief. Reassurance. A chance to sleep, attend an appointment, spend precious time with another child – or simply breathe.

And that’s the Power of an Hour.

So, How Will You Power Your Hour?

A bake-off. A coffee morning. A lunchtime quiz. A spin class. A dance-off. A cycle. A sponsored silence. Even a dad-joke marathon!

Big, small, brilliant or completely bonkers – you choose.

Pick something you can do for an hour, rally your friends, family, colleagues or community and raise what you can along the way.

Today FM’s Ian Dempsey is already looking forward to seeing what Ireland comes up with:

“I love the idea of the ‘Power Hour’. Do what you want, get creative and it’s all for the great cause of the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation. I’m excited to see what brilliant ideas come in from our audience.”

Today FM presenter Ian Dempsey wears sunglasses and a plaid shirt, shouting enthusiastically while holding a large sign promoting the Power Hour for the Jack and Jill Children's Foundation.

Or, if hosting a fundraiser isn’t for you, you can still make a powerful difference:

What Does One Hour Really Mean?

At the launch of Power Hour, Today FM presenters Ian Dempsey and Alison Curtis were joined by Jack and Jill parents Charlotte and Kevin Ring from Wexford, their three-year-old son Seán Óg, who receives Jack and Jill support, and baby Sonaí.

Parents Charlotte and Kevin Ring stand with their children, Sonaí, 1, and three-year-old Seán Óg—a child supported by the Jack and Jill Children's Foundation—alongside the Today FM and Power Hour logo.

For Charlotte, the impact of an hour of Jack and Jill care is very real:

“Knowing that Seán Óg is being cared for by a qualified Jack and Jill nurse means that we can catch up on sleep, recharge and be ready for the day ahead. It also gives me the freedom to attend appointments, spend time with baby Sonaí or simply take a moment to myself, safe in the knowledge that Seán Óg is in the best possible hands.”

That is what your fundraising can make possible.

Today, Jack and Jill supports more than 530 families across Ireland, providing vital in-home nursing care and respite support to families caring for children with severe learning disabilities, often associated with complex medical needs.

Three Weeks. One Big Power Hour Movement.

Over the coming weeks, you’ll hear lots more about Power Hour across Today FM, with family stories, presenter challenges, fundraising inspiration and Power Hours happening in workplaces and communities around the country.

I amAnd it’s all building towards Friday, 25th September, when Power Hour takes centre stage across Today FM for a very special day of fundraising, stories, fun and plenty of surprises along the way.

So tune in. Get involved. Get creative. Tell your friends.

Most importantly, help us power as many hours of care as possible for Jack and Jill families.

ONE HOUR

One hour of your time can give a Jack and Jill family the gift of time.

Your hour has the power to change someone’s life.

One hour that gives families breathing space.
