The Story Behind Raise the Par
This inspiring event was started by Cathal’s family – Mammy Ann Marie, Daddy Niall, and big brother Tadhg – to give back to Jack and Jill, who have been a lifeline of support since Cathal came home from the hospital.
Cathal was born on 6 May 2022 with CHARGE syndrome and a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. After spending several challenging months in hospital undergoing surgeries and procedures, Cathal defied expectations and came home in November 2022. While Cathal is legally blind, severely deaf, and has low muscle tone, he is full of life and lights up every room he enters with his heart-melting smile. From wrestling his big brother awake each morning to bum-shuffling after his dog Levi’s tail, Cathal has been unstoppable.
Making a Difference
Jack and Jill have been there for the Egan family every step of the way, providing in-home nursing care and respite, giving them peace of mind knowing Cathal is in safe hands. Whether it’s spending quality time with Tadhg or simply running errands, Jack and Jill’s support makes all the difference.
The Egan family hosted the first Raise the Par with Cathal event in 2024, raising an incredible €70,000. After such a huge success – and a fantastic day of golfing – they’re bringing it back for 2025 to continue making a difference for families like theirs.

Format: Shot Gun start Champagne Scramble with the option of a Morning or Afternoon round of Golf
