Programme Details

Aim

To provide participants with opportunities to acquire additional knowledge, experiences and values to provide supportive and palliative care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. An integrated approach to the delivery of healthcare across the statutory and voluntary services is essential to provide safe, high quality and effective care to meet the needs of these children and their families.

Programme Content

Certificate

A certificate of attendance will be provided to programme participants on completion of all seven days.

Course Participants

Registered Nurses (all disciplines) and Registered Midwives who provide care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Duration

Seven days over a three week period — 42 hours (6 contact hours per day) Programme is usually held three times a year — 2016 dates to be confirmed.

Accreditation

This programme is accredited through the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) through University College Dublin (UCD) Level 8 and participants receive 5 Credits.
