The Big Egg Hunt – Dublin 2013

    By jackjill_1y5sbe | Latest News, Sponsors | 10 comments | 8 February, 2013 | 0

Sponsored by Lily O’Brien’s and in aid of Jack & Jill Foundation

The Big Egg HuntFrom February until Easter, Dublin will become home to the biggest Easter egg hunt in the history of the state and it will all be in aid of the Jack and Jill Foundation proudly sponsored by Lily O’Brien’s. Over 100 fibre glass eggs, will be secreted around the capital. Each one of the eggs are 2 ½ ft in height and decorated by well known artisans. Big artist names decorating the eggs include Guggi, Felim Egan, Rasher, John Rocha, Ireland’s newest music sensation the Strypes to household names like 2fm’s Joe Duffy, Rick O’Shea & Cormac Battle.
The eggs will go on display on Pancake Tuesday 12th February for 40 days and 40 nights across Dublin. The locations of the eggs will not be revealed, it’s up to you to find the two and half foot eggs. It’s a family affair. Get the family involved in the Big Egg Hunt, all they have to do is find twenty eggs, each egg has a code which you have to identify to enter the draw for a grand prize (diamonds for Mum sponsored by Diamant.ie, chocolate factory visit for kids, and a year’s supply of chocolate from Lily O’ Brien’s) it’s fun and easy.
The eggs will then be auctioned for charity in aid of the Jack and Jill Foundation. The online auction will begin on 12th February culminating in a live auction at the Four Seasons Hotel on 23rd March. Anyone can buy them. The hand crafted eggs are destined to become highly collectible and valuable works of art.

    PRIZES:

    • 1st Prize) Diamond Bracelet by Diamant & Giant Chocolate Bunny created using the finest milk chocolate by Lily O’Brien’s master chocolatiers. 7.5kg of the most mouth-watering chocolate handcrafted in Co. Kildare for your tasting pleasure.
    • 2nd Prize) A Year’s Supply of Award-Winning Lily O’Brien Chocolates
    • 3rd Prize) 1 of 3 VIP tours of the Lily O’Brien’s Chocolate Factory for a family of five.

Evening, what a different and fun Sunday. City centre egg hunting. Couldn’t find an elusive one in Arnotts but got the required 20. Kids had a ball. Great idea, next Sunday another hunt but in different part of city.

how do i enter online i cant find it on the website?

    • owen March 12, 2013 at 7:56 pm

Anyone know how to enter online, can’t seem to find any instructions other that the actual PDF document, is there a specific e-mail address or an online link ???

    • admin March 14, 2013 at 10:17 am

      Dear Patricia/Owen,
There is a slight confusion here… the entries for The Big Egg Hunt are offline only due to the lack of admin resources. It is true that people can download the entry form grom thebigegghunt.ie but there is no web tool to take on registration for the hunt.
We hope this won’t be a major inconvenient and that you’ll keep supporting this campaign and The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation!.
Kindest regards, Jack and Jill Team

    • Marie Gilmartin March 18, 2013 at 10:01 pm

    • admin March 19, 2013 at 7:55 am

Hi Marie, all 100 eggs are now displayed in one location at CHQ building (IFSC, Docklands, Dublin 1) for the final week of the Campaign until 23rd March. Thank you!
